PUFFA JACKETS

Who knew Dollface was so ahead of the trend when I bought her this rose gold puffa jacket last winter? Weirdly it still fits her so I'm guessing it was "oversized" (read MASSIVE) last time she wore it. Puffa jackets bring back memories of school. I used to wear a black Naf Naf one back in the day and I sometimes layered it with my Levis denim jacket because I was cool like that! This was the stage of my life when I lived in Kickers boots and Reebok Classics and was dripping in gold jewellery. Oh yes, double hoop earrings, figaro bracelets, the compete doll family on a belcher chain topped off with an initial ring! I was THAT girl and sadly I've always associated the puffa jacket with that time of my life and never really considered investing in a new one. I've got loads of coats, do I really need one that resembles a duvet? Erm YES! Why wouldn't I want the comforting warm cosiness of a duvet wrapped around me all day? What the hell have I been doing all these years?! Now all that's left to decide is which colour to get. Decisions, decisions...

DOLLY ROCKER

Wearing: Vans @Schuh Trainers | River Island Socks | My K @Mothercare Leggings | HM T-Shirt | GAP Denim Jacket Similar | Ebay Turban Headband

Don’t let the cuteness of these photos of Dolly fool you, folks - this was the most difficult outfit to photograph so far. Since turning 18 months Dolly has decided she wants more of an opinion on what she wears (we're talking diva tantrums). She doesn’t want to wear trousers anymore and pulls at them as soon as I put them on her. She also freaks out whenever I put her top on over her head. The only thing she doesn't have a problem with are her trainers. She likes these cute Snoopy Vans almost as much as me. It’s dramz we just don’t need when we are running late for creche/the gym in the morning. The turban isn’t a problem unless she realises it’s there. And as for the shades? Well, they were kind of her idea. Just as we were about to leave the house she picked up my sunglasses and put them on (upside down) and looked very impressed with herself. Lightbulb moment! I remembered these AMAZING Mickey Mouse sunglasses I bought when I was styling a shoot in DisneyWorld Florida at the start of the year. I actually stole the style from a little old lady who was lying on a sun lounger by the pool at Disney’s Grand Floridan Resort & Spa. She was wearing a black one piece swimsuit, a tight blonde perm, red lippy and these Mickey shades. She looked AWESOME! My friend then pointed out to me that they're actually kids sunglasses, and suddenly I loved her (and them) just that little bit more. Dolls wasn’t as impressed and didn't keep them on for long, so I decided to emulate my old lady style icon and wear them myself, much to Dolly’s delight!

PARISIAN CHIC DOLLY

Wearing: Clarks Shoes | Gap Socks Similar | My K @ Mothercare Leggings | River Island Top | M&Co Cardigan | Ebay Headband

I'm loving this black and cream peplum Breton top. Who doesn’t love a Breton stripe? I styled Dolly's M&Co cardi like a cape, and doesn’t she look chic? The best bit about this outfit (apart from the cute panda socks) are her oh-so-easy to put on shoes. I bought them in Clarks when Dolly started walking because I wanted a pair that would help her during this early stage. She was born with a slight twist to her left foot because she had it wedged in between my ribs (wow, that was painful). Thankfully a few physio appointments and lots of massaging later and it's totally fine. I used to really worry about it but now I know it's okay I've expanded her shoe collection, but I miss these velcro-and-go beauties. I need an extra  half hour to put her new Nikes on in the morning. But to be fair, it does give me a good excuse if I'm ever late somewhere...

DOLLY IN HER DOLLY DRESS

Wearing: Kickers Boots @ Schuh | Molo Dress (Last Season but new season here) | M&S Socks | M&Co Cardigan

I may have fibbed when I said Dolly doesn’t do girly because she seemed to love this cool doll-printed dress. I teamed it with a cute cream cardi that reminds me of something I would have worn as a child. Shortly after I took these photos Dolls projectile vomited all over herself en route to creche, meaning I had to strip her off by the side of the road and put my sweatshirt on her instead. All I needed was a cool belt and a matching headband and she would have looked super stylish!

DOLLY THE DENIM DIVA

Wearing: Nike Trainers | MK @ Mothercare Dungaree and Tee Set | My K @ Mothercare Turban Headband Similar | River Island Denim Jacket

Today I accidentally dressed Dolly like a boy. Actually, that's not strictly true because the only thing she's wearing from a boys' department is her denim jacket, and everyone knows that denim jackets are unisex.
I suppose what I’m trying to say is that she didn’t look very girly. The problem is Dolly doesn’t have much hair yet, and if she had a top knot or pigtails people might stop telling me how handsome she is! I added the turban in an attempt to make the overall look a bit less masculine but I’m not sure it worked, especially as she kept pulling it off. Personally I think she looks pretty damn cool, turban or no turban.

DOLLY'S STYLE

Wearing: Kickers @ Schuh Boots | Zara Trousers | River Island Top | Gap Kids Jacket Similar | Ebay Headband

Dolly is 18 months now (how the hell did that happen?) so she's recently moved up a clothes size, meaning I've been on a little (okay, big) spending spree. I must admit, I'm having so much fun styling her. Dolly is not the girliest of girls, and I’ve been told she likes to chase the older boys around at creche whilst shouting loudly. I'm so proud! Her personality is really coming out now and she's definitely no shrinking violet. As much as I love a pretty dress I think Dolly is more suited to a tomboy look. Don’t get me wrong, I'm not ruling out flowers and frills just yet, but for now it's trousers and boots/trainers all the way.

GRRR I WANT THIS SWIMSUIT (FOR DOLLY OF COURSE)

River Island Swimsuit

I was having a little browse online today (spending money I don't have on new clothes for Dolly) when I stumbled across THE most awesome animal print swimsuit and matching turban headband from River Island for kids. We all know how much I love a turban so you can imagine how totally devo I am that we have been on our Ibiza holiday with Dolly already. I'm tempted to buy it in her size for when we go next year. But knowing me I'll forget I've got it and it will end up buried in the back of her wardrobe with all the other clothes that have still got tags on.

GINGHAM PLAYSUIT

Wearing: River Island Playsuit | Converse @ Schuh Trainers | Chanel J12 Watch | Astley Clarke Locket

I bought this gingham playsuit at the start of summer but I haven’t worn it as much as I thought I would. I worried that I’m a bit too old for it but then I thought sod it; if I want to dress like a toddler then that’s exactly what I will do. So here I am twinning with Dolly in our playsuits during our day of meetings in London Town. Two things I need to point out about these photos are a) I know I’m browner than I was and that’s all down to St Tropez Self Tan Express Advanced Bronzing Mouse. You need to keep it on for one hour for a light sun kissed glow, two hours for a medium golden tan and three hours for a dark bronze colour. Or you can go to bed wearing it for my deep David Dickinson shade b) Dolly is totally over sitting in her pram and was desperate to go for a walk at this point, which is why she's dragging me down the road. She wasn't at all impressed that I was trying to stop for photos.

DOLLY STYLE

I've got a confession to make - I did a one stop shop at Gap Kids for Dolly's Ibiza wardrobe. I know, I'm a lazy mum/stylist, but in my defence work was really busy and I didn't have much time to look around. Plus Gap were offering 40%, off, and when you add that to the 5% off you get from having the Gap App (if you don't have it, you need to get it) it added up to a whopping 45%, and I couldn't resist. Let's not forget that Gap Kids is pretty awesome, and Dolly totally agrees.

A Gift From Nana

M&S Dress

Dolly and I met my mum on Oxford Street this week, and while they went shopping I had an uninterrupted lunch with a friend. It was such a treat to be able to feed myself without worrying about feeding someone else at the same time. Dreams really do come true!
Dolly had a great time with her nana. I'm pretty sure my mum thinks I dress Dolly like a bit of a Tomboy, so she was delighted to be able to treat Dolls to this new outfit for her summer holiday.
It’s so cute and I love the nautical nod. She also bought her some frilly socks to top the look off, although I'm not quite sure how I feel about them yet…

DOLLY'S SWIMWEAR

Sings: We're all going on a summer holiday, no more working for a week or two...

We're off to Ibiza this summer which is our favourite place in the entire world and I'm very excited about it. This will be Dolly's second time in Ibiza. We took her when she was only 4 months old. I've started to prep her Ibiza wardrobe already and instead of going crazy and buying everything in sight (like I did last year) I'm being sensible and have bought just two swimwear items. I must admit it was a difficult task because M&S have the cutest of cute items in stock.

M&S Peacock Swimsuit

M&S 2 Piece Printed Swim Outfit

M&S Pom Pom Frill Swimsuit

This is the one that got away...I found it hard to decide between the Peacock Swimsuit and this Pom Pom Frill one. The Peacock won but I'm still thinking about this...
